We believe there is certain basic information, knowledge, and life-skills every Christ-follower needs to grow, so we’ve put together a set of courses designed to help you grow in relationship with God and others. We call these courses ESSENTIALS because they focus on the top subjects we believe are essential for our growth.
Finances can be stressful and planning for the future is hard when you’re still paying for the past. The Financial Freedom curriculum is based on Financial Peace University from Dave Ramsey’s proven plan to help you take control of your money. During this course you will learn how to master budgeting, pay off debt, build wealth, and give generously. Cost is $120 per person or couple. Register online starting January 11.
This is the first course in our “Essentials” track of our Growth Path. Most Christians know it’s important to spend time with God one-on-one, but often have not discovered a way to make it work in their lives. In this course we will be exploring different approaches to Bible study and prayer, how to interpret the Bible in context, how to hear God’s voice, how to pursue spiritual disciplines, how God has wired us differently, and the impact this has on how we spend time with Him.
Most Christians know that one of our highest callings in life is to learn how to love people in the same way God loves us. But we often don’t know how to do this in real life. The good news is that the New Testament is full of practical advice and illustrations on what this looks like. So in this course, we are going to be learning how to do relationships in a whole new way –the Jesus way. We will be covering a wide variety of topics including what true love looks like, how our character impacts relationships, the importance of dealing with our past, how to grow in authenticity, how to communicate, forgive and work through conflict in healthy ways, and much, much more.
We believe God has created each of us for a purpose and shaped us to carry out that purpose by giving us a unique set of spiritual gifts, passions, natural abilities, personality, and life experiences. In this course we will study what the Bible teaches about our core identity as servants of Christ, and we will explore how God has uniquely shaped each of us to serve and make a difference. We will be using several different testing instruments to discover how God has wired you including the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, The Wagner Spiritual Gifts Test and the StrengthsFinder assessment.
Most Christ-followers want to have a greater influence in helping others come to Christ, but we are not always sure how to do it. And sometimes, we’ve had bad or awkward experiences trying to share Christ in the past. The purpose of this course is to help us learn how to build relationships with non-believers and share the message of Jesus in a way that is natural, authentic, and fits our different personalities. We also explore some of the most commonly asked questions and objections people have when we talk about spiritual issues.
This course uses the curriculum of nationally-known author and radio talk show host Dave Ramsey called Financial Peace University. In this series you will learn how to eliminate debt, save for the future, invest for retirement, select the right insurance, deal with collection agencies, plan for college, find a career you love, grow in your generosity, and more. This biblically-based course has been taken by over one million families.
